2. To indicate how often things are done with a little more accuracy, we can use the construction: (number) + vez/veces al/a la + (period of time)

Voy al cine dos veces al mes (I go to the movies two times a month).

Hago ejercicios tres veces a la semana (I exercise three times a week).

Estudio español una vez al día (I study once a day).

3. About their place in the sentence, adverbs of frequency can be found sometimes after the verb they modify, at the beginning of the sentence, before the verb or as the last word in the sentence. It is not a matter of grammar, but when do we want to put the emphasis in the sentence.

A menudo Paul hace sus ejercicios de español.

Paul a menudo hace sus ejercicios de español.

Paul hace a menudo sus ejercicios de español.

Paul hace sus ejercicios de español a menudo.

Just be careful with “nunca” or “casi nunca”, because if they are not placed before the verb, we will need to put “no”:

Paul nunca hace sus ejercicios de español.

Paul no hace sus ejercicios de español nunca.

Paul no hace nunca sus ejercicios de español.
